Part Three: The Outer Space of the Mind
Whereas mental defilements drag the mind down to a low level, Dharma raises it to the highest possible level, the outer space of the mind. When Luangta Mahã Bua teaches people who practice Dharma, he emphasizes generosity, moral virtue, concentration, wisdom, and the realization of Nibbãna. He teaches that material wealth is not a cause of happiness, because both happiness and suffering arise only in the heart. So we should be content with what we have, and not become overly attached to worldly possessions, because eventually all those things will disintegrate and disappear.
Nothing in the world is comparable with Dharma. When Dharma and mind become one, loving-kindness and compassion will make the world a pleasant place to live. Luangta Mahã Bua always stresses the importance of kindness, self-sacrifice, forgiveness, and generous acts of charity. Such noble spiritual qualities will not disappear after death.
Luangta Mahã Bua has lived at Wat Pa Baan Taad for more than 47 years. During that time, people with faith in him have presented him with countless donations. Luangta subsequently used these donations to finance projects that benefit the general public, such as, hospital buildings and equipment, school buildings, and support for various welfare organizations. He has said that he considers money donated to the monastery to be money for the world’s benefit, not for this monastery’s use. It is unnecessary to construct more buildings in the monastery, as the existing accommodations are quite sufficient. He would much rather see the monks practice walking in meditation until the walking paths are worn down. Only in that way will Dharma truly prosper.
ตอนที่ 3 : อวกาศของจิต
กิเลส ดึงดูดใจให้ตกต่ำ
แต่ธรรม ดึงดูดจิตเข้าสู่ดินแดนอวกาศของจิต ของธรรม
ไม่มีอะไรเทียบค่ากับธรรมได้
เมื่อธรรมกับใจกลมกลืนเป็นหนึ่งเดียว
ความเมตตาย่อมให้ความร่มเย็นต่อโลก
ผู้ปฏิบัติจึงต้องยึดหลักเมตตา เสียสละ ให้อภัยซึ่งกันและกัน
ท่านสอนเราว่า
“การเสียสละ ให้ทาน แบ่งปันสงเคราะห์ซึ่งกันและกัน
ถือเป็นน้ำใจอันยิ่งใหญ่ แม้จะตายไปแล้ว น้ำใจอันนั้นก็ไม่หมดไป”
กว่า 47 ปี ที่วัดป่าบ้านตาด
ผู้คนได้นำจตุปัจจัยไทยทานมาถวายด้วยความศรัทธา เป็นจำนวนมาก
ท่านได้นำไปสงเคราะห์โลกในด้านต่าง ๆ เช่น สร้างโรงพยาบาล สร้างโรงเรียน
ซื้อเครื่องมือแพทย์ ช่วยเหลือสถานสงเคราะห์ และสนับสนุนด้านอื่น ๆ อีกมากมาย ท่านกล่าวว่า “เงินวัดนี้ เงินเพื่อโลก เราไม่ได้เก็บสำหรับวัดนี้ ใครจะสร้างอะไรให้ เราไม่เอา ที่อยู่ พออยู่พอไป แต่ทางจงกรมให้เป็นเหวนั่นละ ธรรมเจริญ”
ท่านได้ย้ำกับพวกเราว่า
“เวลามีชีวิตอยู่นี้ ท่านจะทำความดีให้โลกทั้งหลายได้เป็นคติตัวอย่าง
อันดีงาม และทำด้วยความเมตตาสงสารต่อสัตว์โลก”
Part Four: Luangta Mahã Bua’s Support for the World
Wat Pa Baan Taad has remained basically in its original condition since its establishment in 1956. Without electricity, life in the monastery is quite simple. The enormous amount of donations that Luangta Mahã Bua received during that period has been redistributed to support public welfare projects. In regards to spiritual welfare, he has supported the meditative development of monks, novices and lay people by teaching them Dharma. Since 1971, he has made Dharma books and audio tapes available for free distribution. All of his efforts have done an invaluable service to society as a whole. As he himself stated recently: “Beginning in 1956, I have helped the world for 47 years, distributing an amount totaling nearly one billion baht”.
The following is a summary of his donations to various institutions:
1. Hospitals and health-care centers: approximately 152 million baht
2. Schools and government organizations: approximately 82 million baht
3. At least five hundred monasteries: approximately 296 million baht
4. Child care centers, handicapped children centers, and centers for the poor and needy: approximately 30 million baht
5. Animal care centers: approximately 20 million baht
6. Six hospitals and one school in Laos
The total amount is 600 million baht*
(*However, many more donations went unrecorded)
Luangta has stated that as long as he remains alive, he must continue to assist the world, so as to set a good example for others to follow, and show them the true value of love and compassion
ตอนที่ 4 : พระหลวงตามหาบัวสงเคราะห์โลก
สภาพของวัดป่าบ้านตาดตั้งแต่เริ่มตั้งวัด เมื่อปี 2499
แม้เวลาผ่านไปยาวนาน แต่สภาพยังคงเดิม ไม่มีไฟฟ้า อยู่อย่างสมถะเรียบง่าย
ผู้คนจำนวนมากได้นำจตุปัจจัยไทยทานมาถวายพระหลวงตา
ซึ่งท่านได้นำมาสงเคราะห์โลกทั้งหมด โดยเฉพาะทางด้านจิตใจ
ท่านได้เทศน์โปรดพระ เณร ญาติโยม
ตลอดแจกจ่ายหนังสือเทปธรรมะมาตั้งแต่ปี 2514
โดยไม่มีการซื้อขาย นับว่าเป็นงานที่มีคุณประโยชน์ต่อชาวโลก
อันประมาณค่าไม่ได้…

พระหลวงตามหาบัวได้ช่วยสงเคราะห์โลกนับตั้งแต่ ปี 2499
ถึง ปัจจุบัน( มิ.ย. 2545) ท่านได้ให้ความช่วยเหลือทั่วประเทศ ดังนี้
1. โรงพยาบาล สถานพยาบาล และสถานีอนามัย ประมาณ 152 ล้านบาท
2. โรงเรียน และหน่วยงานราชการต่าง ๆ ประมาณ 82 ล้านบาท
3. วัดต่าง ๆ ไม่น้อยกว่า 500 แห่ง ประมาณ 296 ล้านบาท
4. สถานสงเคราะห์เด็ก เด็กพิการ ด้อยโอกาส และผู้ยากไร้
ประมาณ 30 ล้านบาท
5. สถานสงเคราะห์สัตว์ และสัตว์พิการต่าง ๆ ประมาณ 20 ล้านบาท
6. นอกจากนี้ยังช่วยโรงพยาบาล 6 แห่ง และโรงเรียน 1 แห่ง สำหรับประเทศสาธารณรัฐ ประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ประมาณ 31 ล้านบาท
